Series plots

DynRisk offers several plots for comparing statistics of data nodes. These plots are referred to as “series plots”, and include “Line charts”, “Bar charts”, “Column charts” and “Pie charts”. All these plots have several variations as well.

The settings for the first three plot types are handled by the same dialog box.

Line chart

This plot is very useful to show changes as a function of time, e.g., cash flow or net present value calculations. 

Select the data nodes in the order you want them to appear in the plot. Click the “Line chart” button in the toolbar, or select “Line chart” from the “Gallery” menu. Then enter your “Chart settings” into the dialog box, and click the “OK” button. The “Line chart” appears.

Bar chart

The “Bar chart” report is e.g., useful for displaying schedule nodes. Select the data nodes in the order you want them to appear in the plot. Click the “Bar chart” button in the toolbar, or select “Bar chart” from the “Gallery” menu. Then enter your “Chart settings” into the dialog box, and click the “OK” button. The “Bar chart” appears. 

Column chart

The “Column chart” and the “Bar chart” are similar plots, but the “Column chart” displays the bars vertically. Usually the “Column chart” is a better choice than the “Bar chart” when only a few nodes are selected. Select the data nodes in the order you want them to appear in the plot. Click the “Column chart” button in the toolbar, or select “Column chart” from the “Gallery” menu. Then enter your “Chart settings” into the dialog box, and click the “OK” button. The “Column chart” appears.

Pie chart

The “Pie chart” is very useful for comparing the contribution of different nodes to e.g., a total sum. Select the data nodes in the order you want them to appear in the plot (clockwise in the pie). Click the “Pie chart” button in the toolbar, or select “Pie chart” from the “Gallery” menu. Then enter your “Pie settings” into the dialog box, and click the “OK” button. The “Pie chart” appears.
